The Estill County Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs (ICE) Box is a business incubator located in downtown Irvine, Kentucky. Our mission simply put: We want to grow the economy in Estill County by helping to create more locally owned businesses that are sustainable, supply jobs, and build a network of business owners helping one another to be successful.
Aspiring entrepreneurs are provided affordable office space, electricity, water and Wi-Fi access for one low monthly rate. They also have access to regular educational opportunities and business support from professionals and experts in small business development.
While setting up your business, your chance of success can be greatly improved by working within a business incubator. Do you need help working on your business plan? Do you need assistance with securing financing? Do you need help in getting your product to market? Our partners can assist you with all these questions. On the other side of the coin, being in a business incubator brings with it certain committments. You must be willing to attend monthly review meetings with an advisory team to help keep you on track. You must be willing to listen to advice and take constructive criticism from our support team of professionals. And, you must be willing to make your business the best it can be. A spot in the ICE Box is not just cheap office space; it is a supportive place in which your business can grow and you can grow as an entrepreneur. Just like an egg in an incubator, get it?
The ICE Box will provide office space for 5 entrepreneurs, a large conference room for meetings, and internet connectivity. If you would like to start a business in Estill County, but don't have the money to move into a larger space, the ICE box could be for you. Space is also available for Kentucky Teleworks members. Workshops will be held at the ICE box on a regular basis, and will be open to existing business owners. If you are an existing business owner in Estill County, and want training or would like to volunteer to help mentor a new business, we would love to talk to you as well.
A business incubator is a program that provides low-cost office space, coaching, and training to assist individuals that want to start a business but may not have enough money to move right into a large retail or other space. If you are just looking for cheap office space, the incubator is NOT for you. If you are looking for guidance on developing your business plan, are willing to be coached, and want to test your idea on the market before investing your savings or seeking capital investment (loans or an investor), then the ICE box IS for you. Studies show that businesses that begin in an incubation program are far more likely to succeed and remain in business longer.
The ICE box partners: Estill Development Alliance (EDA), Estill County Chamber of Commerce, Estill County, Center for Economic Development Entrepreneurship and Technology (CEDET) at EKU, EKU Small Business Development Center, EKU Business and Technology Accelerator Program (BTAP), and the Innovation and Commercialization Center at EKU (ICC).
There's no catch. If you're interested in learning more about the ICE Box, call Estill Development Alliance Director Joe Crawford at (606) 723-2450 or shoot him an email via the form below, and he'll be happy to talk with you about the possibilities. Thanks for checking us out!
